Butane may be controlled to some degree in the state you live in. Since we are not aware of all the laws in all the states, Tamisium Extractors Inc. cannot supply any solvents to you. It is up to you to learn about the rules and regulations of the state and country you live in regarding solvents. There are many solvents that can be used in a Tamisium Extractor. I have used Butane, Heptane, Pentane, Hexane and more for extracting chemicals and oils from plants for over 5 years in the state of Texas and these are not the only ones I have used in this extractor. We obtain Butane from the AirGas Specialty Gas Department. We obtain other solvents from various Laboratory Supply Facilities in Texas to avoid shipping charges. The Laboratory Supply Facilities usually require a permit or some form of business document stating the intended purpose for the apparatus and or solvents purchased. This varies from state to state and is not always required.
** It has come to our attention that some Airgas Outlets are not aware of or will not honor these prices. We have heard reports of some Outlets charging over inflated prices for N butane while the one down the street honors the prices above. Not sure what the legal requirements in your states are for pricing but you may want to take that up with the appropriate agency. We are only passing on pricing we obtained from the Airgas people indicated on this site to give you some idea of what prices you can expect to pay. We cannot guarantee pricing for a company we do not control. There are many Specialty Gas Suppliers to choose from.
However, you best chance to get the prices listed here are to follow these instructions to the letter.
Please remember that most solvents are flammable. When opening and closing any of the extractors, please safely purge the units and do so in a well ventilated, spark free environment. The smaller units can be taken outside. Know the properties of the solvents being used for any process of any extraction with any apparatus. Accessory Safety Purge lines are available for each extractor.
